Texas Sex Offender Registry
Overview
Access to sex offender information in Texas is provided to the public as the result of the Jacob Wetterling
Registration Act, which was passed by the United States Congress and Megan's Law,
which requires states to release relevant information about registered offenders
to protect the public. Information about access to TX sex offender information can be found in the chart below.

Online Sex Offender Registry / Online Directory
Provides registration information regarding offenders. A search tool allows users to search by name (requires both first name and last name) or zip code. Available in English and espaņol.

Online Sex Offender Maps
By entering an address, a map of the surrounding area is displayed with roads, schools, parks and zip codes labelled and residential addresses of offenders labelled by risk level - high, moderate, low, civil commitment and unknown. The user can zoom or pan (re-center) the map and can click the "Identify" icon, then an offender marked on the map to access that offender's name and other details.
