Colorado Sex Offender Registry
Overview Access to sex offender information in Colorado is provided to the public as the result of the Jacob Wetterling
Registration Act, which was passed by the United States Congress and Megan's Law,
which requires states to release relevant information about registered offenders
to protect the public. Information about access to CO sex offender information can be found in the chart below.

Online Sex Offender Registry / Online Directory Only provides information on certain high-risk registered sex offenders in the following categories: Sexually Violent Predator (SVP), Multiple Offenses, and Failed to Register. Browse separate directories for sexually violent predators, offenders with multiple offenses and offenders who failed to register or have a history of failing to register. A search tool allows searches by partial first or last name, city or zip code.

5. Definition of Terms
In-Person Access Registry information shall be released to any person residing within the law enforcement agency's jurisdiction. Persons requesting information shall show proper ID or other proof of residence. When necessary for public protection and demonstration of a need to know, law enforcement shall submit to CBI a request from any person residing within the agency's jurisdiction for the release of information concerning sex offenders who reside within other law enforcement jurisdictions. In determining "need to know," law enforcement shall, at a minimum, consider the nature and extent of the person's presence or the presence of the person's immediate family in the local law enforcement agency's jurisdiction. ("Immediate family" includes the person's spouse and the person's parent, grandparent, sibling, or child.)
