Article Overview Murphy Texas prosecutor Louis Conradt was the target of a sting by the police, an online watchdog group called Perverted Justice and the NBC show Dateline: To Catch a Predator. Mr. Conradt never made it to the Dateline house used in the sting, but he allegedly used an internet chatroom to talk dirty with an actor posing as a 13-year-old boy. With cameras rolling and police at his house he shot himself in the head with a pistol.

Threats issued over sex offender website

Article Overview Sex offenders in New Zealand are threatening to sue the Sensible Sentencing Trust for putting their names on a website for public use. Trust spokesman Garth McVicar said the trust had received 4 threats of legal action from lawyers acting for convicted paedophiles and other sex offenders who did not believe their names should be publicised, but the trust has no intention of removing them.
