California officials, who have no funding or authority to track the sexually violent predators who have been freed, have no idea where some of them have gone. Over the past two years, state Department of Mental Health officials have attempted to locate the men -- to learn how many have re-offended -- by contacting prosecutors in California's 58 counties. But in many counties, prosecutors could not name their released sexually violent predators, much less identify where they were.

Judge Marvin Garbis ordered James Reigle, 46, of Harrisburg, Pa., to spend the rest of his life behind bars for sexually exploiting young boys into posing for photographs and then posting those illicit images on the Internet.

Sex offender 'can't control urges'

Robert John Walker, a man who allegedly fantasised about eating the body parts of young children, might be incapable of controlling his sexual urges, an Australian court has heard. Documents filed with the court claimed Walker had unsigned contracts for principals of kindergartens and primary schools to "supply" him with students. The contracts allegedly contained details such as removal of body parts of children, including their brains, eyes, hearts and sexual organs, "to cook and eat". One document allegedly seized from Walker, entitled Bondage and Raped For Ever, contained a permission form for children to sign authorising sexual abuse by an adult and sexual acts on animals.
