User Bio
I'm a regular poster on the site. I'm middle aged now (well maybe a little past that) and am an average guy.
I am a survivor of a very violent sexual assault. My story "Silverthornes Story" is posted in the victims forum here. I was abducted from school by a teacher and raped violently at age 10. Some years after this event (around age 14) I developed a sexual attraction to young boys which persists to this day. After my rape came out in my late teens (while I was in the navy - I was medically discharged) I was able to successfully sue for damages the teacher and school district responsible for my assault. I was one of the first people in the US to successfully sue in one of these cases.
I also entered therapy for pedophilia and have continued it on and off to this date. I've had over 16 years of therapy (not continuously but as needed) for pedophilia. I am now in therapy for victims issues (something I never did before).
I am not a sex offender and believe children can not consent to sexual contact with adults. I do not identify as a "boylover" and I believe children are to emotionally (as well as physically) undeveloped to have sexual contact with adults. I believe children are not "equals" because they haven't had the life experiences required to make the emotional decisions regarding sexual conduct. While they may enjoy the pleasurable side of some sexual contacts they just don't understand the emotional reasons for it. An adult is inherently unequal to a child psychologically and to imply they are able to make an informed choice is fundamentally flawed.
I am opposed to the overall sex offender registry as currently enacted but do favor a limited registry (public) as originally intended for violent and repeat offenders. I also favor a private (police only) registry for all sex offenders. I'm an active member of several abuse groups and have lobbied successfully for legislative changes to laws allowing victims to sue for damages years after abuse occurs. I'm currently working with a group pushing for a two-strike law here in Arizona for sex offenders.
I routinely post on several gay and boylove type boards as a "right-winger" speaking out against sexual conduct with children. I routinely provide therapy recommendations to people seeking help to deal with their pedophilia. I have people I can talk to at both the SO treatment program at Johns Hopkins (Dr. Fred Berlins program) and the ATSA (Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers). If anyone would like information on a therapist near them all you need to do is PM me with the state and nearest major city to your location. I don't need your name or any personal information. It takes a couple of days to hear back from ATSA on therapists. I will then forward the name and contat information of a therapist to you and you can follow up with them personally.
I BELIEVE IT IS BETTER TO ASK FOR HELP THEN LIVE IN SECRET AND TRY TO MANAGE PEDOPHILIA BY YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!
Despite being a Pedophile (diagnosed) I consider myself an advocate for children as well as others like me. I'm a strong proponent of treatment for sex offenders which has statistically been proven to work and I'm also a strong advocate for PREVENTION and hope for the day when pedophilia is looked at as alcoholism is as a mental illness that needs to be treated BEFORE people act out.
Thank you.
