I am a Registered "sex offender" living in Georgia. I have been Registered for around 8 years. Registration does not work, it is costing society in so many different ways, and has been abused to a level that even I didn't imagine 5 years or so ago. I've had it with Registration and the rest of the illegal laws. I'm not going to put up with it any longer.
I am working to bring Georgia Registrants together to work against Registration and especially against all the illegal laws that have come about because of it. I want to get Registrants in constant and immediate contact with each other to promote civil disobedience and anything that will make Registration unworkable and ineffective. It's basically a networking group to foster an "us versus them" mentality. So far, I have contacted over 500 Registrants and there are a decent percentage of them communicating, some electronically but more in other ways.
There is a lot of activity in Georgia this legislative session that is focused on getting a cheap political score for the upcoming elections. Much of the activity focuses on further punishing people who have already been punished. There is very little focus on things that might actually prevent sexual offenses. Some illegal legislation will pass and that will pretty much be the start of the war.
After the politicians do their thing this session there won't be many areas regarding "sex offenders" where they will be able to do much more. They will have already done it and pretty much exhausted their cheap scores. That is when I intend to become really active. The Registrants will have settled into their newly rearranged lives and bans. The legislators won't be able to do much more. Everyone will be happy that "sex offenders" have been driven into the countryside. I intend to attack Registration, etc. endlessly again and again and urge all Registrants to do the same. I expect that will continue for decades. The idea will be that there will be no more benefits from Registration, etc. but the costs and problems will continue forever.
