You've been on probation these past seven years, traveled in your job, and now suddenly are told you can't? Sounds like you need to take that one to the judge.
The travel policy changed this year. Coincidently, most of the changes were as a result of lax standards which resulted in a sex offender leaving the county who got in trouble for attempting to contact children at a park. There are still some issues pending as a result of this case so I can't go into more detail, but the point is there was a reason to tighten up on the policies. The Court can over rule the policy.
Polygraphs are voodoo and the polygraphers are quacks. But a question for you. Are you STILL in sex offender treatment after 7 years? You should have long since completed treatment. Perhaps it's time you found a different provider?
Not all providers are the same and certainly a change might be necessary depending on the circumstances. Perhaps we should be asking about why it appears this person is still in therapy instead of assuming it MUST be the therapist instead of the patient.
Warrantless searches have been a part of sex offender probation in your state for quite some time. It isn't a "new" policy.
Warrantless searches have been a standard condition of supervision for quite some time; however, emphasis on doing them with more frequency is the recent trend.
They can't GPS you if your conviction and sentence predates the law. Which yours does by a good 6 1/2 years. If they put one on you, you need to get a lawyer and sue the crap out of them.
Calm down Orolan. It depends. Some circuits in the state have a standard condition in regards to electronic monitoring where the language clearly states it's authorized by the Court and DOC discretion. Further, he might be talking about recent VOPs. Yes, the RSOs being violated and revoked now are getting GPS'd.
