Gender: Male, Age Bracket: 40 - 49, State: Florida, Country: United States

I was convicted of a sex offence 7 years ago. The "victim" was 17 at the time with 2 months to go before 18. As it turned out, when I was involved with her she was in court with another case involving another adult. Her mother's boyfriend, who had been sleeping with her since she was 15. I make no excuses here; just want to share the facts.

I'm sure I am not going to say much new here. I have lost a few apartments and will lose this one when they pass the 2000ft. law, probation says I can't stay in a hotel room so I will lose my job because it involves travel (this is new and I have traveled for 7 years now with no incidents). As we know, you must retain a job and a residence to be in compliance, so I will probably lose what little freedom I have.

I had an incident with a new polygrapher who demanded that I respond that I have seen pornography or he would fail me before I took the test. He stated “I’ve been working with guys like you for twenty years and I KNOW you’re doing it.” I asked for the video as proof but he "lost" it. (Others have the same issues with this man).

I have had my apartment searched from top to bottom by probation (another new policy) and they are now putting ankle bracelets on all SO's regardless of your original orders.

As I am sure a lot of you have, I have endured death threats, vandalism, public humiliation, misinformation on the registry site, restrictions on how I make my income (and I'm not talking about working with children), and an overall brutal attitude from one of my PO's that is hellbent on violating his people... He drove one 21 year old to suicide with his fear tactics.

All I can say is this. When you take everything from someone that leaves them with nothing to lose and that is a dangerous thing.
I am a well educated professional who has kept an honest life. Seven years ago I knew I could get through probation with no problems. I don't do drugs and drink about four beers a month, so nothing on my part would get me violated or committing another crime.

These days I have lost that naive perspective. But I am NOT amazed at what is going on and how the public is being whipped up into frenzy against us with a misrepresentation of facts (if given any at all). Facts do not matter here, politics do! We have seen this happen before, in Germany circa 1933-1945, Russia circa 1917 and so on. It's only a matter of time before they start "relocating" us to "camps". If that seems far fetched, look back a few years ago and think what laws are in place now that seemed far fetched then.

The truth is, we are subject to any abuses that can be imagined and no one bats an eyelash. I for one am sick of it. I am at my point of "enough".

As a combat veteran I have no compunctions against defending myself. I see this as an attack on my very life and I am at the point of making a statement about it. It will be the kind of statement that will make National news. I am one who is no longer afraid. When I have been stripped of everything, I will have nothing left to lose!

I feel it is my patriotic duty to defend the constitution against all those who oppose it, foreign… or domestic!

"Experience should teach us to be on our guard to protect liberty when government's purpose are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment of men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding." - Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis from Olmstead v. United States
