We already talked about some of this by PM but I'll throw my 2-cents in here.
Deferred adjudication isn't worth paper it's written on. Not even sure why it exists for sex offenses. Sure you won't have a "conviction". Big deal. The whole world will see you on the registry for a criminal sex offense. I don't see them thinking you got put on the sex offender registry for not paying your water bill on time. Know what I mean? So don't let that be the determining factor.

Oh, and please. Don't be around children. You're a danger to them all.
Wait. I forgot. You have kids of your own. So let me rephrase. You can be around your kids. Just don't teach Sunday School, OK? Can't have you grooming those 8 year-olds.

Hello all,

I have been to this site before, and I know most of the general and important stuff about being a registered sex offender, but I have a couple more questions.

1. I am currently probably going to agree to 10 years registration, but its really 20 because of 10- years probate and 10 years afterwards.

a. Do you forsee it staying at 10 years, or should i assume its going to go to lifetime with the federal and state laws geting tougher.  (my charge is attempted indecency with child/exposure)
b. will I lose my very well paying high-tech job, should i tell them?
c. Its a defered felony, is that even valuable to me, or should i go to trial?

d.  Any gotchas I am not aware of, I am worried I am missing something.

Any help would be most welcome, I am a bit scared as you can imagine.

Btw, get this, I am going to be a registered offender because someone saw me from a hill behind my vehicle from a distance masturbating with my windows up and no knowledge of this girl being there, and admits I did not intentionally show her, and she was 16...  I've taken 3 psych vals and passed all 3 that I was not sexually stimulated by children, but they do not care.  Why dont we dilute the database even more.. sigh...
