1. I am currently probably going to agree to 10 years registration, but its really 20 because of 10- years probate and 10 years afterwards.
(Answer) Doesn't matter how long it is going to be since you will be on it anyway. Thing to do is register accordingly and move on with life it's not a big deal and the least of your problems.
a. Do you forsee it staying at 10 years, or should i assume its going to go to lifetime with the federal and state laws geting tougher. (my charge is attempted indecency with child/exposure)
(Answer) always expect the worst so your not let down later in life over it. accept whatever it is and move on
b. will I lose my very well paying high-tech job, should i tell them?
(Answer) Better to let them know before someone else does if they are going to let you go they will let you go but atleast your honesty wont be in question for the next job.Losing your job depends on the people who you work for and how they feel. I would have an attorney prepared to file suit for wrongful termination if thats the case.
c. Its a defered felony, is that even valuable to me, or should i go to trial?
(ANSWER) Only you can decide in the end if you do you are probably going to get the same sentence as accepting the plea other then you will then be a convicted felon which may impact you in the future. Depending on how old you are it may be worth going to trail anyway since your looking at possibly 20 years on the registry and the record wont be removed after the deferment anyway.
Any help would be most welcome, I am a bit scared as you can imagine.
(Answer) You have every reason to be scared since your life is about to be alterd. I would suggest that you postpone everything as long as possible to prepare yourself for the changes you will be facing. This includes taking care of any debt. Looking for a new residence should you be forced to relocate and options of self emplyment.
Most importantly come back here for support thats what we are all here for.Good luck to you and keep your head up high.
