To the mods: Feel free to can this subject without complaints from me, if you feel it would not be in the best interest of this forum. :) Thankyou.

In another topic it was stated some person was put in jail after confessing to thinking about "doing more" with a child they had babysat, or at least looked after. While the actual situation was more involved than the poster let on (death threats, even though this was side-stepped) , it did bring up an interesting question in my mind.

Lust. Depending on religious views or otherwise, you may feel it is wrong to lust after another person.

For this question, take the view of a Male heterosexual. Would it be wrong to lust after a woman, but not after a child.

I believe that one should not lust, so the question is really irrelevant (though people do lust).

But if I were to not believe this, I would say that there is not a valid reason why one should lust for a woman, but it being wrong to lust after a child.

It seems that it is almost a jailable offence to lust after a child, even if there is no intent to act out.

The first question that will be asked is, "Yes but a woman can consent to sex, whereas a child cannot."

But people lust after woman they KNOW the woman would never cons ent to sex with, for instance, many men lust after supermodels, girls in FHM, or such, actresses, etc. They know that the woman would not EVER consent to having sex with them. If it is wrong based on consent, then surely these men should be locked up also?

I believe, apart from religious convictions, that Lust for a child, and Lust for an adult, are either both wrong, or both right.

Opinions please.

Reminds me of my present situation with women. Actresses, models and most other straight women would never befriend me, let alone have sex with me, so i don't fantasize about them. (Women who partner with women traditionally make much better friends with me than straight women). Though I'm straight, women who would be attracted to men in general tend to be uncomfortable with me UNLESS they see me as a potential boyfriend. That puts the kibosh on any fantaisies as they could not be of consenting sex, not of women comfortable around me.
"Yes but a woman can consent to sex, whereas a child cannot."

Can does not mean will. If a man shows that he's interested in a woman who is not interested in him, and he persists, that's at least sexual harassment. It may not be a criminal offense, but he can be sued and ordered to pay a lot of money to the woman. If he was to act on such a fantasy with a woman who was accessible to, but uncomfortable with him, that would be rape.

What if he had done something more with the child? It was not about wanting to do things to the child, but having the access and the OPPORTUNITY to do them if he wished. I doubt they would have arrested him if there was no child in sight and he said the same thing.
