I have just visited this site for the first time, and after browsing and reading other person's battles, I just want to say that this is a GREAT informative site. Almost 3 years ago I was the victim of rape, and as of 2 weeks ago, I finally got to put a rapist behind bars! A victory, yes but not on all levels of approval. We had to plea w/ the rapist and give him credit for time served, because there were other un-related charges against him. In the end it seems that he will be labeled a sex offender for 13 years and possibly forcefully leaving this country. I guess at least I know that he won't be in the U.S., but I am worried for the other women in his native country. I wish everyone the best of luck, and my support.

Hearing about your victory really gives me hope because I am just starting the process to convicting my rapist and I know I have a long way to go until the end of this. Thanks for sharing your story.
