Please begin using the new messageboard. This messageboard will become read-only (no posting) in the next 1-2 weeks so except for existing threads, please use the new messageboard from here forward.

The new messageboard is at http://www.sexcriminals.com/forums/ and can also be reached via the Forums link at the top menu.

User registration is fast and easy and can be done by clicking the Login link, then Register after visiting the forums. Registration is not required to view the forums, but is required to post new messages or replies.

Between the differences in place and those that will be added I don't know where to begin. While viewing posts doesn't require a user account, users must create an account to post. Users have access to new functionality like email notification of new posts, a profile with mostly optional details, an optional bio, better visibility of read/unread messages and dates/times displayed in the user's timezone and shorly trusted users will have their messages posted automatically, bypassing the normal moderator review process.

There is currently only one forum in the message board, but additional forums will be added over the next few weeks. For example, there will be a news forum which will integrate news articles on the site with discussions of those articles.

User moderators, an improved search tool, private messaging and other features will be added in the near future too.

I encourage you to begin posting there because by the end of the month the old message board (this one) will be closed and some time before then the ability to create new threads (new topics) on the old message board will be removed, leaving the old message board open only for reading messages (which will never disappear) and replying to existing threads.

DP1, you posted them to the beta site at http://beta.sexcriminals.com/forums/forum_101/. The posts are still there, but you need to post them to the live site at http://www.sexcriminals.com/forums/101/.

You can just create a new thread on the live site and copy/paste your text from the beta site. I hope that makes sense and sorry for the confusion.

The timezone isn't visible to other users. It's simply used so that all dates/times on the site appear in the user's timezone. By default GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is used. In my case that means that right now all dates/times would appear 4 hours ahead of me unless I selected my correct timezone.

Previously all dates/times were EST (Eastern Standard Time), but I suspect that the majority of site visitors don't live in that timezone so the new way gives them the opportunity to have accurate times displayed.

tia, I wouldn't be surprised if Silverthorne doesn't see your message. I'd suggest either emailing him privately or using the private messaging feature that will be added to this site later today. i still can't get registerd on the new board i typed in my e mail address and got to stage 3 ,but i was then told to type in the registration sent by e mail.will one now be sent?

An email with a registration code should have been sent automatically within a few minutes of completing that step. It'll be easier and faster to resolve by handling privately by email so I've emailed you at the email address you entered in your registration. If you don't receive the email then I suspect that the email address you entered has a typo, your mailbox is full or it is in your bulk (possible spam) folder if you have one. If you haven't gotten the email by the time you read this email me privately at siteadmin@sexcriminals.com and I'll help you out.
