You are absolutely right. That's my point...it's about the facade not reality...obviously he was not a christain. But out of all the places a pedophile decided to obtain employment? Wow..that wasn't thought out was it?

I am not a supporter of the feminatzi movement and hate it when the "gender" has to be specifically identified.
Both men and women can be sexual predators, child molesters or pedophiles and too much time is waisted on "specifying" the gender or the critisizism of those who don't specify.

Guess this guy didn't grow up with a good religous upbringing. Maybe he spent too much time saying His Hail Marys and Our Fathers while he was being molested by the priest in the confessional. Who knows.
I tried to check out what court he was in but unable to acces the county courts tonight. I know the news media was all over the courthouse the past 2 days -it was either this case or the Big Brother.
And for everyone one of these cases that hit the news, there are at least 50 that go unrecognized. Why is that?

That is true. I'm continually amazed at the utter stupidity of some people. An example is chat rooms. Busts from chats are in the news everywhere, all the time. But people STILL go into them and try to hook up with a minor.

No, I don't think women are sexually attracted to minors the same as men. Maybe its something maternal or a difference between males and females but I think if women on a whole found minors sexually desireable the ratio of male/female child sex offenders would be nearer 50/50.

Yes, some women do but they tend to be the exception. I'm sure there are men that only find elderly people sexually desireable, but again they are the exception.

dp yes it esp gets me mad as a christian, but we need to think that so, pedos, etc come in all sizes, shpaes and colors and pro.
as unfortunatly as I hate to admit they can be le, probation, teachers, christian/ps school teachers, boy scouts, girl scouts, etc.
yes though, very sad, as sometimes the ppl who children need to look up to the most are the ones who let them down.
look at the catholic p. wow and I was raised catholic, but we used to joke then that the nuns were having backdoor abortions, unfortunatly, true, and I do recall hearing ppl joke how the fathers of the catholic church were molesting young boys, as they took their vows as not to be married.
well, umm, yes, but they chose it.
a sick world we live in as why when we die and one ones who will go to heaven will have a much greater life.

ahh, just read the article, and no you are right it does not state that he was, but also from all the Christian schools I have known of , one of the requirements were the teachers had to be christian, maybe not go to that part. church, or even denomination, but had to be christian, as that is the whole idea, for the children to be around christian role models.

dp , yes, but as we all know many SO called christians do molest, catholic p, pastors, and reg ps teachers etc, as alot of pedos will work where they are around children.
but yes I think your point was, and please correct me if I am wrong here, that if he was obviously a christian he would never have done that, right? and yes to a point you are right, but does the same not go for a teacher? or a lea, or anyone for that matter? but yes I do feel the same as you, as if you are going to talk the walk, then walk it.

Anti a quick question? How old were you when you heard these rumors? I was raised Catholic but we stopped going when I was in fourth grade. Was it generally "known" in the church community at all back then?

My mother tried to raise us catholic. All the rumors about how the priests would fondle the kids scared me to death. It's one thing to get molested it's another thing to have the entire church put up with it and not encourage intervention from the law. By the first grade I refused to go to our catholic church. Now that their secrets are being exposed I am proud to have said "no" to sexual abuse at such a young age.

I do not believe that you hate Silver as previously posted. You don't even know Silver since you never met him. You may hate his posts, his attitudes, or that he reminds you of a child molester, but you don't hate him (the person). You and Silver have taken your opposing opinions to the personal level which is totally out of line. Neither of you know the other one. This board is not personal - it's simply a mode of communication.
I beleive that if you rephrased your anger, ie..., "I hate your posts Silver" it would be more accurate. Pointing fingers and name calling only inflames more anger to an already angry situation. You could accomplish the same points by depersonalizing your sentences.
Example:
You want to say I hate you
instead you could say:
I hate your behavior.
This is easier for the person on the other side to accept and does not inflame by personally attacking.
It would be fair for you to say:
"Silver, I hate that your deviant thoughts remind me of my personal issues with child molesters".
Which I believe is what you are really saying instead of "I hate you"
When a person is told, "I hate you" they are hurt. Also, it doesn't explain what the problem is. What is the problem with Silver? His posts? His thoughts? The fact that one day you are afraid he may act out and really hurt someone? Silver appears to be sincere in trying to work with you as far as meeting in the middle. He has no control over the fact that you get majorly pissed off when it comes to child molesters. He does not represent the average child molester...there are plenty on this site and he's not one of them.
I also wonder if it's really really possible for a pedo to never offend sexually. I am not 100% convinced that all pedos will never offend. There's always a first time and since we don't have a crystal ball I guess we will never know the truth. In the meantime, I believe it's unfair to address Silver as a child molester (HP also as far as I am concerned) as a child molester since no court in the nation has found them guilty. I am not suggesting that molestation never occured nor am I saying that it never will occur. I am saying that they are innocent until proven guilty.

I was raised cathoilic and NEVER thought the priests would molest children. 25 years ago (ouch) when I was in school you would never think on thoes lines.

PS - It only became personal after the last "look at your life" comment. I'm tired of being constantly "sideswipped" by inuendo and insult and sitting around doing nothing. I finally attacked back. Yes I'm happy. If nothing else we've learned a couple things about Anti.
1) Her kids were molested.

Do you really hate people for what they admit to thinking? Or do you judge their actions since actions speak louder than words? If Silver wasn't honest and never said anything about his thoughts would we have known what he was thinking? I can't read minds can you? His actions appear to be respectful as well as his posts...not the typical pedo I normally come in contact with...how about you? If he really really was planning on acting out he would not have admitted to his violent thoughts...that tells me he's reaching out for support....just a regular human being if you ask me. Pedos without remorse or feelings tend to be the worse ones and least likely detectable...just an observation on my part.

ok, here I will try to say more clearly how I feel, k if he is true that he has never molested a child, great, but yes of course I judge a person by their thoughts, to a point, I mean I would not be friends with a person online or esp off who admitted that he/she has sexual violent thoughts of children.

Nobody's asked you to be friends with a pedophile. This is simply a forum with adults exchanging information ....it's not personal. Also, pedophiles are not necessarily sick with documentated mental illnesses. Some are very healthy if you ask their therapists....thinking about having sex with children is simply deviant - not sick. So I believe your definition of "sick" might be incorrect. It would be more accurate to say "deviant". I could see why pedophiles without mental illnesses might be offended by the term "sicko" because they are not sick and don't deserve that title. Calling a pedo "sicko" would be the same as calling you a "crazy bit**"...it is completely out of line. There are some pedophiles with mental health issues but the last studies I have read basically indicated that the mental health issues are not any different with pedophiles than with the general public. Have you found anything different?
