Im trying to find out how I can obtain a list of sex offenders from each state by mail or email.

We have not compiled a list of sex offenders for each state. As you may have noticed, there are dozens of state, city and county sex offender registries that can be accessed via the internet for free. There are even more that can be accessed via phone, by visiting a police precinct, etc. (sometimes with a fee involved). Some states and many localities don't make this info. available at all or limit access to police or others who demonstrate a legitimate need to access the info (according to their discretion).
We are working on pulling info. from many of the 150+ online registries we know of into a central database, but because this is a volunteer project it will likely be months before this effort has advanced enough to go public.

I live in New Hampshire. On your site for our state you have a link, it takes the person using the link to our State's one and only news channel...wmur channel 9 news. However when I have tried to access anything about the Sexual Offenders Registry, I get nothing on the topic. I was wondering if this site could tell those of us who would like to know if our children are living next to a sex offender what the laws are regarding obtaining information from our local law enforcement agency. I heard they passed a law where you could go and request a copy of the registered sex offenders in your community, is this true?

I also live in NH and have in the past accessed the NH sex offender list thru WMUR's website. However recently while trying to access this list once again I too did not find it at WMUR as I had in the past. After becoming totally frustrated at my inability to access the list I emailed WMUR and asked why I could no longer find the list on their website. The reply simply said that they were supposedly redesigning their website and they claim they "hope" to offer the list again soon. My thoughts have turned more to the possiblity of public pressure making it "disappear" from the site and I'm hoping if enough people email, call, or write WMUR maybe they will see the need for this list to be accessible to all. I just sent them an e-mail asking them to explain in detail why it's taking so long for them to update that part of the site. I will also call them this week to see if I can speak to a human being. I will post when I get more information from WMUR.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one in New Hampshire that could not understand why they took that information off in the first place.

couldnt you just look up each state and city under their sex offenders just an idea sure you have already thought of it but thought id mention it

why is it that i was married to a sex offender and he is not on the list of sexual offenders? was it because he was in the military? he was even kick out because of it! if you have any information of where i can get this information out or something please let me know.

i was wondering if there are any states that do not allow registries, as there are only 41 states listed on your site.
