I am a sophmore in High School in Gorham Maine. I decided to do my I-search paper on child abuse and child molestation. I was abused when I was younger mentally. I want people to begin to understand what happens to children who are abused, mentally, physically, or sexually. If there is anyone who would be willing to share their story or a friends story, no name involved, I would greatly appreciate it. This is very important to me. I want to educate people about these things. I want to help prevent them if not I want to make sure the person or persons who ever do this to a person suffer. Please contact me at this website or my email at jewcesangeleyes@netscape.net. Thank you. Also, if anybody knows a site I could go to about the laws about child abuse,molestation, etc. . . I wanna know the maximum sentence a sex offender spends in jail. Thank you very much.

I am not sure what compels me to write you this message. I usualy do not get involved in this kind of thing. I am a 24 year old female who has experianced alot of abuse from alot of people.My mother was phisicaly and mentaly abusive,my dad was sexualy and physicaly abusive,and My stepmom was physicaly and mentaly abusive. As if that wasn't bad enough when I was 15 years old I was put in foster care. I was pregnant and probably needed help,now that I think about it. When I was 16 I had my little boy. When he was 2 he told me he was being molested by my foster dad. Now I look back at all the signs of abuse and think of how easy it is to miss. I think the first and most important thing to prevent abuse is not to think it can't happen to you. No matter what kind of family you have or how smart you think you are or how careful you are there are always going to be sick perverts out there,and they do not care how much it hurts.
You will also find that most abusive people were abused as children and did not get help.

I was sexually abused whn I was a child by my step dad,who told me
I tell he would hurt my mom and my little sisters. I was raised in a Christain home, my step dad was a deacon in our church. It has messed my life up completely. My worse fear was for my children to have to go through the same thing. Even when I was a child I can remember telling my mom that I hope my kids never have to go through this. Well, I have a 7 yr old son, and 2 yrs ago he was abused by his cousin. It brought back all my childhood memories about what happened to me. It's really sad how someone could do this to children. Now, I'm om anti-depressants to get through the day. I turned to drinking years ago but then I realized I can't take care of my kids if I'm drunk. It's really hard. But, I always told myself no matter how are or bad you have it, somebody else has it worse. That's how I get through everyday.
Just tell the kids, "if anybody touches you where they're not supossed to , you tell" those kind of people will say whatever they can not to get you to tell.
Also, this is a great subject to do a report on, you may have already done the report, but it's good every now and then to get your feelings out. Keep trying to help people and do your best in school. Trust me, it will pay off one day! Good Luck!!

You often see rather not say on here. It is all me. I fyou want to contact me more please email me not many people do, but I can guarantee help on the subject. I liked how one of the responders said I always have to remember somebody out there has it worse than me... I can't seem to keep that in mind. I wouldn't wish my life on my worst enemy not even the people who have caused me to be this way. I was abused physically, emotionally, and mentally ever since I can remember by my drunk father. My very first memory of my entire life will always remain the molestation by my grandfather at the age of three. I thought I was helping him pee and could only pray to the good lord above that he didn't pee in my mouth. At the time my momma was my protector. She didn't know about the sexual abuse until I was 13 ( and my grand father had passed away) but she fought tooth and nail to protect me from my fathers words of fire and fists of steel. My momma left my dad and met up with my step father. She temporarily turned to alcohol and turned on me. Calling me names to purposely piss me off and became physically abusive...I have to admit at times I left her no choice for I was very rebellious. I didn't like what she had become she wnt from my best friend to my worst night mare. My step father to whom I refer to as poppy at the time was sexually abusing me. He was also physically abusing me and turning all my family members against eachother. By the time he was through working his magic nobody in my family tusted anybody let alone liked them. I have also survived 16 other rapes done by close friends, strangers on the streets, boyfriends and one gang rape where I had been raped by 16 gang members all at once. I am only 18 years old!!! I turned to drugs and alcohol but stopped just as easily as I started, I refused to give the satisfaction to those who hurt me to see me throw my life away. I used to cut myself...self mutilation. I was bulemic and anorexic. I now suffer from a 5 axis mental disorder and take 6 or 7 different medications adding up the pills I am supposed to take 26 pills a day. That is insane. I should not have to go through this. And yes out of all the offenders that have attacked me I have turned in 2 both only spent 8 months in jail. I gave up on the system a long time ago.

I am a probation officer in Carrollton, Ga. who's caseload is of all specialized cases (child crimes, sex crimes, and domestic violence cases). Prior to this, I worked for the State of Georgia as a child abuse investigator. I have 10 years expereince in the field of social work and probation, I'd be glad to answere any questions you have.

Congratulations to your daughter and you. I know no one wins in these type of cases -- I too have suffered such, but I take my hat off to you for your courage and conviction. My daughter is in great pain and I am in great termoil for what my husband of 12 years did to her... He is facing 14 counts of aggravated sexual assult (digits and tongue), 27 counts of sexual molestation and 3 counts of bribing a witness not to procecute (44 total counts) -- How many years do you think he would be facing?
Brian Sedillo will be going before Judge McDonald today, 06/18/01 at 1:00pm at the Rio Rancho/Sandoval County 13th Judicial Court to face these charges -- Will you be present to cover this story?

Man Indicted in Rape of Minor

The CEO of an Albuquerque mortgage company and former resident of Rio Rancho has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl repeatedly over a two-year period.
Brian Sedillo, 32, was indicted in Sandoval County last week on 14 counts of rape and 27 counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
The criminal sexual contact is alleged to have begun when the girl was 10 years old and continued until she was 15.
Sedillo also is accused in the indictment with three counts of bribing a witness in the case.
Rio Rancho police said Sedillo is CEO of Exclusive 1 Mortgage and Investments Inc., 2125 Louisiana Blvd. Sedillo is registered with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission as president of the company whose principal address is in Rio Rancho.
"I don't care to make any comment concerning the claims right now," said Sedillo's attorney, Whitney Johnson.
The assaults allegedly began in April 1996 when the girl was 10, according to the arrest warrant affidavit, and continued until September 2000 when she was 15.
The girl told police the alleged rapes and other sexual abuse took place at Sedillo's residence and occurred two to three times a week in the two years before police were contacted, the affidavit says.
Sedillo later offered to turn over all his financial and business matters to a potential witness if the girl would agree not to talk about what had taken place, the affidavit says. The potential witness agreed to the offer for a short time, according to the affidavit.
Sedillo also offered to buy another potential witness a house, pay her moving expenses and give her a salary, although she refused the offer, the affidavit says.
An investigation into the matter began in September 2000 but was later dropped after Sedillo coaxed the girl into recanting her story, the affidavit says.
Police reopened the investigation in January at the request of one of the potential witnesses.
David Waymire, assistant district attorney in Sandoval County, said Sedillo posted bond. He is currently living in Belen, according to the affidavit.
Sedillo is expected to be arraigned before District Judge Louis P. McDonald later in the month, Waymire said.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. John Francis said Sedillo could face 171 years in prison if convicted on the charges.

I was 10 years old. And my adoptive father was the one that did it to me. I pretended like I was sleeping and he did what he did. Why don't know. But know I am 22 have a family. And still dealing with it. I kept quiet for 2 years and couldn't do it. So I told I teacher and she called the police we went through the whole ordeal (lie detecter test exc.) Moved me out of his home and nothing happened after that. I knew they threw it out. So I tried to keep living a somewhat decent life. Tried hurting myself. Overdoseing, car into tree, slit my wrist because I didn't feel loved. Eventually I gave that stuff up it is not worth it they are the ones sick not me. I have a life to live for. I actually wanted to live to stop people like him. Haven't got that far. Want to write a book or talk to people but have been busy. Eventually I packed him and memories away in a box in the back of my mind. And it was working. Until the summer of 1999. A detective called me and asked for my help. He did it again to another 10 year old girl( total stranger) and they dug up my case and found it was not solved and wanted me to help put him away. I told him no beacuse I was pregnant and that was stress on my unborn child. But then I said yes because he couldn't do it again if we got him behind bars. And we somewhat did. He was suppose to get 40 years and then 40 years probation. And actually all he got was 20 years prison and 40 years probation. He has to register as a sex offender when he gets out and give DNA in case he does it again. I am glad he is gone, but I am very upset because I have healing to do and a family to try to raise.I am seeking counseling and working on this. How do you know the actual pain of a victim or offender as you are neither. Yes as a parent you feel your childs pain but you are not an offender(at least not convicted) you just don't know. Speak only what is true for you, a parent of a victimized child.

Although all of this seems so hard to me, how can we as ppl even remotely involved in a situation like this discuss it now that it has been so long, or even since it hasn't been us that went through it.
My case is different, I personally am the one who went through the trauma--only mine was not only once. Throughout my life, and until recently (wereas it still lingers), I felt as though I had a neon sign on my forehead that said "in some way sexually assault me".
Over and over again throughout my life, this happend to me--and until I decided to get help for myself I didnt want to remember, or cope or anything of the sort. I am now 22 years old, and I have had seven predators in my life.
For that one who began this paper, I realize that your paper is probably long over--but still I feel the need to display my emotions in this way.
As I wake up each morning, feeling as though thepillow is a brick in my head making my skull bleed internally. I use whichever utensil is closer to me...The needle, the razor to cut my arm ( sometimes I forget I am real), the lighter to spark anything nearby, the bottle of oh to warm tequila from the night before.
My cat Loki, which happens to be all I have now...Crawls up next to me and stares at me sadly as if to tell me something sad. I lay there in a wonder--what if it hadnt been me? Would it have been anyone? And if so I do not wish to take it back. But if not, my life wouldve gone so different.. The first man, three times my age---my babysitter--took from me at four years old my innocence, my childhood, my purity. I will never know what happend to him, I can only hope what is said in proverbs is true. But, I do know that the disability/social security I have to claim as my legs do not move would be better off somewhere else. See the last three were at the same time, and they had no remorse...
I only wish the doctors would have let me die.....
