You have asked a question which I am assuming was phrased broadly so that you would draw more people into the discussion.
Only an absolute idiot would think pornography CAUSES rape. Rape is, by traditional definition, an act of force over another where sex is the vehicle. Getting your jollies over nude pictures or even hard core porn does not CAUSE this behavior. Rape is a choice that is made, if even made in a short time, it is still a choice.
Certainly various types of porn, and the ensuing fantasies they can be used to generate can work to desensitize a person to another's pain. But still a choice is made. Now if you are actually trying to ask if there is a link between the use of pornography and the commission of sexual offenses (a very different question) then it can be shown that there is a link between most offenders and their use of porn. But, and correct me if I am wrong, I think there just might be a link between drunk driving and the use of alcohol ;-)
There certainly is a benefit to keeping an offender from utilizing porn. But they can only be obtained if the choice is made to engage in activities that promote a healthy sense of control. Remember; sex offenses are acts of control, sex is merely the shameful vehicle used. This will shock you but some people, when they want to control another, will use a gun, a knife, their emotions and even......love (a perverted form of it for lack of a better word). It's about control!
