Why should we plaster there names and addresses on the computers when those that commit murder, rape, grand theft and even burglary are only in the publics eyes through television and once its over they disappear and no one knows where they went or what happened to them. Why should they be any different? Not only that if a Sex Offender is living with a relative or a friend because they have no where else to go because of the Ridiculous 1000 foot rule from any Church, Daycare or School Yard or even more any place a child may come in contact with where else do they get to live. The Family Member they are living with could be in danger because of the Vigilantes taking matters into there own hands. For Instance in Florida a Sex Offender living with his Mother, the house they lived in was burned down with both of them living in it, and to top it off the case is unsolved and will probably stay that way because Society doesnt look at the innocent victim that was helping her son out only that he was a registered sex offender with his nama plastered on the websites for those to take matters into there own hands. The registry should not be viewed in Public Eye, if you want it there then at least for the safety of those that may live with them take the addresses of and pay more attention to your CHILDREN & LOCK DOORS!!!!

I noticed you are from Florida. All you have to do is visit the Florida Department of Corrections website to see your local murderers, drug dealers, scammers, or whatever.

Just curious as to why you oppose notification? How do you suggest the information about these vile child molesters get out to the general public where it belongs so moms and children can make informed decisions?

If the sex offender site gave as much information as the Fl. Dept. of Corrections site did...I may have a different opinion. You can easily find out when a murderer, drug dealer, and such, committed his or her crime, pretty explicit as to what the crime was, and when they will be done with their supervision, and even what kind of supervision that is.

As far as SO's go, no such luck...they are just labelled, either a sex offender or a predator.........

You have to quit telling half the story. You forgot that people from other states or no longer under the thumb of DOC aren't on there.
so moms and children can make informed decisions?

Say what? How did Moms make informed decisions before there was a registry? How did my Mom keep me safe from these so-called 'vile child molesters'? Or your Mom? Or are you saying these types of people didn't exist when we were kids and this thing about molesting kids is a relatively new phenomenon, perhaps brought on by PTSD in Vietnam veterans?
As for children making informed decisions, they can't, remember? That's a fundamental tenet of most sex crimes.

and when they will be done with their supervision

Precisely. And as soon as they are done with that supervision...poof......they're gone from that site. Never to be 'known' again. So the guy who finished his parole last year for 6 counts of selling crack to minors who just moved in across the street from you yesterday? You won't find him on there anywhere.

Oh bull. Just do a background check on him. What's the big deal? Get over it will ya? If it's that important for you to know that your neighbor 15 years ago got busted for DUI or smoking pot then check it out. It's ridiculous to complain about the registry then in the same breath whine about not having easy access to criminal backgrounds on other types of crimes. If not having easy access to other types of criminals pisses you off that badly think about how much it would piss people off if they didn't have easy access to sex offender's histories. It's all about supply and demand. Sex crimes piss more people off than drug crimes or property crimes for example. Obviously this is why the people have demanded a registry for sex offenders. I see little or no demand for other types of crimes.

Looking for details? Let's bring it on boys. I'd love to write the gory details. Let's see, 'Def raped and tortured step daughter over a period of 3 years. 10 years later step daughter goes to therapy for depression after 4 unsuccessful attempts at suicide and admits to counselor she was raped by her step-father. Def is arrested for Capital Sexual Battery, cops to a plea of L&L then is sentenced to 10 years probation.'

Yup. The public REALLY REALLY needs to see how the criminal justice system works. Bring it on. Let's not hold back the truth any longer. Maybe the truth will set the victims free alas.

Oops - were you thinking all these so-called bad guys on the list really weren't pervs just dirty old drunks who go caught urinating in public? Sorry for bursting your bubble - but hey - get used to it if you want the real deal.

What? Ten years probation for a little 'belated incest'? He should have had a better attorney, like that New York cop.
The public REALLY REALLY needs to see how the criminal justice system works.

They sure do. Perhaps then they'll realize that all this BS about registries, proximity laws, license plates and GPS is exactly that. BS. They'll realize that their legislators have been giving them a royal screwing all these years, refusing to tell them what the REAL problem is and doing something about it.
Yes. Bring it on. The truth will hurt your cause more than it will hurt mine. A win/win situation for me.

I see little or no demand for other types of crimes.

Really? NOW has been demanding a domestic violence database for years. Legislatures refuse to give them one. MADD has been demanding a DUI registry and mandatory felony charges for first offenses for decades. Again, legislatures won't give it to them.
And I shouldn't have to pay somebody $25 to tell me what my neighbor's criminal history is if he doesn't have to pay to get mine.

I don't think I should have to pay $25 a pop, to find out if the guy who just moved in across the street is gonna be trying to sell my grandchildren drugs!!!! Or we're gonna get caught in the middle of a drug deal gone bad!!

NO! as I dont think its kept up to date as I had a hard time finding the sex criminal I was looking for...... When you look to find the register on the search engine, there are lots of sites that come up and they want money to locate the offenders.

There use to be a place that you entered a simple zipcode and it would tell you how many sex criminals were in your area and what the addresses were that the criminals lived at ... that site is the one I was looking for when I came to this site..... does anybody have the site address that I can find the sex criminals that are in my area ??????????

You can find that info. through SexCriminals.com.

Since your profile says you are from Texas, I assume you are looking for registered sex offenders in Texas. To access the state registry, click "Sex Offender Registry" from the top menu found on any page of this site, then click "Texas" from the list of states in the center column of the page, then read the text in the center column of the page and click the link to the desired resource. Note that for Texas there are links to a searchable registry of registrants' information and also a sex offender mapping utility. If you scroll farther down the Texas page in the SexCriminals.com directory of sex offender registries,, you'll also see links to several dozen cities and counties in Texas. These are cities and counties which have a law enforcement agency (either police department or sheriff's office) that maintains and shares a local version of the registry. Not all localities share that information online so if your locality isn't listed, that's why.

If you're interested in another locality or state, drill down through the directory using the same method. There are still a few states which don't have a registry online and many more which online list those classified as high risk.

For those unfamiliar with the founding of this site, see my user profile. I founded the site in late 1998 (moving it to SexCriminals.com in January 1999) as the first accurate, comprehensive directory of sex offender registries online. There are well over 400 state, city and county registries maintained by various local and state government agencies which are currently listed.
