This is such a relative, personal situation. At this moment in my life I would almost throw a party for him or her. Someone registerd for this crime is like a dream come true to me. They are out in the open and I'm pretty sure I could tolerate this set of circumstances just for that fact, yet ya never know til it hits home. It's the ones who haven't gotten disclosed that frighten me the most. From experience I know there's alot out there and I am very guarded.
I am only one person, but I tell you this seems to me like it has been an epidemic in my life. There is the sex registry and it seems conceivable that there could be an addtional misdemeanor registry list or something comparable - so many laws seem outdated for this particular crime to keep children safe.
Even statue of limitations on this are in great need of change from my experience. In a suit I tried to file with a therapist it was only 2 years, and I had been agoraphobic then, yet he was protected.

Yep, once again the blind belief that if my neighbor is not on the registry then he surly must be O.K.,  What a wingding thought.  Hey people (personally to sadiesgramme2004 ) the person most likely to molest your child (or in your case your grand child) is already in your family.  He isn't the guy down the street, no that is only for good headlines.  It's daddy, mommy, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, and all the other terms of trust we use.  He's already in your home and you welcome him/her with open arms. 
 
Come on people, where would we be if each time some family member molested another family member it made the headlines!  Imagine waking to find "Fathers Proven to be Threat to Children" on your front porch.  All my cell mates (yep, I am one of the disgusting ones) were cops, ministers, teachers and others, but their victims weren't congregation members or women at the side of the road.  No those cases are just the ones that make the headlines.  Nope, their victims were their sons and daughters.  Come on, this is basic child molesting 101, get your heads out of the sand and stop getting your sociological progress reports from the local headlines.
