Protecting your children should be the first ISSUE that you do when it comes to Sex Offenders being released after serving there time. How would you feel if someone you loved was accused of this crime and you know there is no possible way they committed this crime? Would you want your family member to die in prison just because you assume they cant be cured or treated for the crime in which they were accused of? Have you ever thought of why some reoffended on different crimes? Society has turned against them because they were in prison regardless of the crime that was done everyone deserves a fair chance to change there lives around and no one should stand in there way.

I'd appreciate you posting your scientific "proof" of the first two claims you make.  You see we've been having discussions here for years and have posted SEVERAL studies (latest by the Dept of Justice in fact) that seem to indicate Sex Offenders DO NOT have a high reoffense rate.  Also serveral other statistics saying some treatment programs are VERY SUCCESSFUL in helping an SO manage his deviant thoughts.

As for #3 I'd ask if you would favor locking up indefinitely all people with 2 or more DUI arrests?  I mean they've proven they cant control themselves and drunk drivers kill about 50K people a year after all (alot more then sex offenders).

Finally #4 perhaps you can recall back in WWII the US Supreme Court ruled it was "legal" to intern the Japanesse in "camps".  Just because the court says something is "legal" doesn't make it ethically "right".  We've also had discussions here about the fact these "patients" get little or no treatment, are forced to give up their rights (which implies punishment?) and forced to "prove" they wont act out again.  If we all were locked up for what we "might" do we'd all be in a hospital somewhere.
