CHICAGO -- A Northwest Indiana woman pleaded guilty but mentally ill in the slayings of her two young sons.
Magdelena Lopez, of Dyer, Ind., agreed to plead guilty in return for the state agreeing not to seek the death penalty.
Lopez beat her 9-year-old and 2-year-old sons to death with an exercise weight last July

Amazing that being depressed is justification for beating your kids to death.........but try using that reason for not being diligent in making sure the girl you just picked up in the bar really IS over 18 like her ID says.
I also seem to notice that only MOTHERS are allowed to use this justification. Fathers and stepfathers, well they're all just violent perverts.
