Sometimes, identity theft is all too familiar
Parents hurt their children's financial future by using their names

The 8-year-old Milwaukee boy hopped in his father's car after school and announced he needed $202 to pay a We Energies bill that had arrived with his name on it. He figured he had received the bill because he had watched so much TV and never paid for it.
What really happened was the boy's mother had fallen behind in her utility bill, had her service disconnected and then put the account in his name, stealing her son's identity, said Kurt Roussell, coordinator of revenue protection for We Energies, who handled the case.
Such children sometimes don't learn that they have been victimized by their parents until they turn 18 and try to get credit cards, rent apartments or take out loans - discovering then that their credit is badly damaged, but still usually reluctant to prosecute their parents.
I think these parents should be strung up for ruining their kids credit like this by stealing their identities. Wonder how many of them are trying to save the kids?

Lets just throw this out there, do any of you, know anyone who has ever done that with their kids? I dont...Navigator your added comments to these stories are rediculous....you try and infer that all parents who oppose your way of thinking are actually just scumbag criminals behind closed doors...

It was common in the military, to use kids' names and identities to secure credit, especially from rent-to-own places near base housing.
After commanders started getting angry calls from the businesses being stiffed and unable to find the relocated family, they changed policy about conducting business in the civilian world.
Back then, your credit rating was not as powerful as it is now, however I am sure those kids are paying the price for this.
I never used my kids' names to do this, I married a stupid fat cow Southern woman with a rich daddy, he taught me that cash is your friend, credit is your enemy. I made enough extra $$ on "pro pays" that my pockets were always stuffed with cash... back then they paid us in cash.
But yes, I knew several young enlisted guys who used this tactic.
I never knew anyone in the civilian world that did this, but that could be because all my peers and friends were making $35+ an hour plus per diem and some expenses paid as well.

Actually I know a couple of people that have done this...... Not people I like to call friends. I actually reported a couple for doing this to the State Attorney's office last year and they informed me that unless the child comes forward and files a complaint then there was nothing they could do, but since the couple's chile is only 2, I seriously doubt that is going to happen. I personally have been a victim of identity theft from a relative and because I was reluctant to press charges, I had to struggle to rebuild my credit rating including paying off debts that weren't mine.

Renny, can you tell us what type of improvements you've made in therapy in regards to respect for women? (or shall I say stupid cows?)

LOL
Few it would seem. But I am working on it!
I consider it a lifetime project and right now my focus is ensuring I treat my wife with respect and dignity.
I should be fair. She was not fat when I married her, in fact, she was stunning! I apparently "made" her get fat, or so it was stated in the divorce papers, that my constant time away from home on missions and then jobs, over 85% away, caused her depression and caused her to overeat and have health problems. nothing said that the $220k plus I was sending home kept the fridge full to enable this... Grrrrr.
I did encourage her to get a GED, since she quit school as a 10th grader when she gave birth to the son fathered by her father. Even the rich like their kids.
She was from Virginia, definately Southern. Her maternal grandparants were allergic to shoes, hehehe.
Her pappy was loaded, an heir to one of the largest Mississippi River shipping companies.
Ok........ the cow comment was horrible and disrespectful. I think there is a clause that allows us to insult our exes though. You should hear what she says about me!!
BTW: I think she is a member in here now........... RSO, so we'll see.

How are they rediculous? You mean we shouldn't hold these parents accountable and let them ruin their kids credit?
you try and infer that all parents who oppose your way of thinking are actually just scumbag criminals behind closed doors.
Never said anything about parents who oppose my way of thinking are scumbag criminals behind closed doors. Don't know where you got that idea. However, most parents are probably criminals as they most likely have broken the law in one way or the other over their lifetime. Doesn't matter how minor the crime was either as they still broke the law.

Are you serious? That would be cool. Wouldn't it be interesting to hear her perspective? Are you restricted in regards to contact with her? If you can't have contact with her and she's posting then we've got a legal issue to discuss. Don't risk a no contact order even if we are anonymous. If you think someone is her and you're having prohibited contact that isn't a good situation. PM me if we need to talk privately. I have some thoughts on this if this really is the situation.

There is a T&C about associating with people involved in the case, and a P.O. because of a stupid, VERY stupid email I wrote during the divorce threatening suicide.. The P.O. has nothing to do with the case, it was from the divorce, the T&C is part of the case as we were co-defs.
I could have burned her good, she was chatting with me after her release and while on probation, but before I got arrested, and her T&C surely included no contact with people involved in the case...... but I didnt.
After i got out and was awaiting xfer of probation, she tried to have me jammed up for contact online, but this time I was 100% covered. I was still in HER hometown, meeting with HER PO in person every day while awaiting a transfer, lol. If she makes it off Prob without a VOP I will be amazed.....
BTW............ its not her.......... just someone who writes a lot like her. I will PM you.
Whew, I would have hated to leave.
