There was nothing you could have done. I have seen this several times and each time it has to end the same..the gamboler must lose everything before they give it up. In each of the cases that I have watched only one ever got the marriage back together.
I have heard now that they are finding that there is some chemical that is released in your brain...endorphines??....that is what a gamboler is actually addicted to...gamboling somehow releases whatever it is and each time you "almost" hit, it gives you another little jolt of it..and without knowing it you go on gamboling looking for your next little jolt. It might also be adrenaline that is released...I dont remember.
