Steve, I was just wondering about the post from aag79. One would think that the age of the poster would be someone born in 1979; however, the Subject material would be more indicative of an inquisitive teenager. Would it be possible for teenagers to register on this site? I don't recall any age requirement to register. I hope that all or most of the registered posters are above the age of 18 considering the adult content of this board. DP1

What is considered a sexual offense if the child has just as much to do with it as the adult?

As I recall, there was discussion about this issue earlier. Seems it was agreed by consensus (although Steve IS the boss) that minors could register.
Stands to reason that if minors can be sex offenders and victims of sex offenses, they are entitled to talk about it on this forum.

aag79, did not supply any birthdate info. so I don't know how old she is. Her email address, which is private, is for a corporate email address (given the corporation it is almost undoubtedly her employer) so it's very unlikely she is under 18.
In the past we (some of us here, not sure if you were part of the discussion) had discussed the implications of those under 18 participating in the forums. I'll be adding a registration checkbox for users to confirm they are 18 or over, but I will not be barring those under 18 from posting. I made that decision because I don't want to prevent those under 18 from posting questions and anyone under 18 could just say they were over 18 anyway so there's no feasible way to restrict posting to those 18 or over.
There was some concern earlier that some sex offenders might not be able to participate in a forum where they might interact with those under 18. I'm working on a user option to allow users to essentially make posts from those under 18 invisible to them and not allow them to communicate (post, PM) with those under 18. It'll probably be January before that's implemented.
P.S. I moved this thread from the General forum to the Off Topic forum.

That's pretty much the reason I chose to allow them to register as users. Besides, there's no feasible (with "feasible" being the key)way to ensure that those under 18 don't just say they're over 18 in order to register if the process didn't accept birthdates that implied an age under 18.
If there are any concerns, issues, suggestions or solutions that haven't been discussed feel free to talk about them.

It dipped down in the high 70's today. Our air conditioner actually stayed off most of the day. WOW. Sorry about the snow. I can't say that I miss it.
