Steve. I know you've kind of decided you don't want HTML coding ability in the forums (I agree with that generally) as it would present all kinds of opportunities for abuse.

That being said I wonder if it would be possible to have ONE HTML item available?

Italics !!!!!!

Many times I see people quoting other posters in huge threads (even I do it) and its really tough to tell who is saying what. I know I put " " quotes around it but it's still unclear when I jump back and forth between a quote and my reply comment.

If we could have italics as an option it would be alot easier to navigate the posts. I'm sure we could get everyone to use it to (or at least most of us).

Thanks,

Silverthorne

I'll take that under consideration. I'm planning on doing something to make it easier to quote in replies, but be patient.

Right now the only HTML tag that's not automatically stripped out if used is the <a> link tag to make clickable hyperlinks. Everything else is prohibited (and stripped out if used) in order to keep the look of posts consistent and usable.

Do you mean color coding for quoting of text you're replying to? Or something else? Let me know what you have in mind.

Yes. For example, your words quoted above could be in red while my words down here could be black. Then there would be no way to miss who is saying what.

Then if you add italics that wouldnt be so bad. It would be easy to tell whats quoted at least.
