I have no personal experience with Jags, but I'd always understood in years past (15-20 years ago) that they were not very reliable. But didn't Ford buy Jaguar 10 or so years ago? Maybe Ford has helped improve the product quality.
I'd recommend perusing consumer reports and other websites for ratings.
Jag's do look quite nice. Does anyone buy a jag for reliability? For reliable transportation buy a honda civic :).
