The defense claimed Rademaker was a fall guy in a very cold case and attacked the credibility of the prosecution's witnesses, particularly Manya Ksendov, who was 14 when she began having a sexual relationship with the defendant, 15 years her senior.
So he was just a scapegoat? It's hard to feel sorry for a guy who was having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old at age 29.
Rademaker did not testify during his trial. But the defense presented witnesses who testified that he had admitted setting fire to the victim's car in the Angeles National Forest but that he had denied killing Pandelios.
If he's just a fall guy, I wonder what his explanation was for burning her car. I don't know the details of the case - maybe he claimed she drowned on her own and he was scared and burned her car. Rademaker's case was also discussed in the forums in April 2004.
