the threat of going back to prison is going to keep them from committing new crimes? What a great argument for lifetime parole! Wait, the threat of going to prison didn't stop them from offending in the first place, did it? Why would it stop them now?

Don't you just love the media? The article opens with
Under a bill unanimously passed by the state Senate, every sex offender in Indiana would be placed on lifetime parole.

Now what does that tell you in clear and understandable language? Pretty simple. EVERY sex offender in the state will suddenly be on lifetime parole.
Of course they could have said it this way
Under a bill unanimously passed by the state Senate, every sex offender in Indiana who is convicted after the bill becomes law would be placed on lifetime parole when released from prison.

That's the REAL deal. But the average member of the public would see that and laugh at how it sure won't make a difference now. After all, these guys will be doing 25-life so it will be decades before the first lifetime parolee even hits the prison gates.
For the record, this is the first sentence of the bill, Senate Bill 6
Lifetime parole for child molesters. Provides that a person who commits child molesting after June 30, 2006 and who was at least 18 years old at the time the person committed the offense must be placed on lifetime parole when the person's term of imprisonment is completed.

By the time both houses agree on a bill, child molesters will be changed to the more generic term sex offenders. And they will also add a phrase that this is retroactive to include all sex offenders.

If you are not willing to kill or die for your cause, your voice is but a whisper.

Dimethylmercury.

Do not do this, ever, but when angry, this is a good day dream, lol.

Cover all your CDs in this. When they come to get you, and haul you away for resisting, they will find a CD stash. Make sure the CDs are blank but labelled "violent kiddy porn" and soaked in (CH3)2Hg.

In their eagerness to get piggy points, they will touch them, then touch each other, then touch and touch..... by the time they realize they should not touch anything in a sex offender's home, their bloodstreams will be flowing with (CH3)2Hg and there is no cure for the slow painful death that will overcome anyone who got even so much as a half of a drop on them.

Rubber gloves do not stop (CH3)2Hg.

Of course I would NEVER advocate such a thing, and in fact I stress that purposely doing such a thing is wrong and I demand no one ever do it.

That's just it. They won't. They'll leave it just like it is. A law that will change nothing. But it will look good in November.
Once again the public will be fooled into thinking the politicians are hard at work protecting their children. When they actually aren't.

Did anyone bother to figure out what thats going to cost? Thats stupid and I think most will agree. I was hoping at some point the "powers that be" would take a long hard look at who and what crimes are really costing us as a society, that spans alot more than "sex offenders" I cant get the laws enforced on the really bad guys I have now, how in the world do they expect to take on more?
