Can't read the article because it requires registration. But I'm wondering why it's such a burden. Especially with Lee County Florida getting $450K a year from the Feds to fund 6 positions ($75K per year per officer) to check up on 268 offenders. Norwich has 80 offenders, so should be able to swing $150K a year for a couple officers. So what's the beef? As long as the Feds are paying the bills, who cares what it costs?
