I agree, it sounds to me like the registry worked for once EXACTLY like it was intended to, how he figures that it failed is beyond me.

no they are not.  they are attempting to gain public attention because next year is elections so they are posturing and propagating misinformation to that end.  there is nothing in the proposed legislation that will actually make anyone safer.

i would hope they would check out the story by calling the parents when ANYONE wants to pick up a child.

why?  do you also want to keep an eye on all those convicted of a DUI for life?  does he have a sex offender fetish? besides, who is going to pay for all that  monitoring which could cost more than 90 million per year and require 2000 new officers dedicated to being "minders"
