"Good police work, great prosecutors and unprecedented teamwork were the factors that led to this conviction,"
What police work? DeRosario says he saw the boy with another man, and that other man says he saw the boy going in DeRosarios house. Looks like a stalemate to me, so you treat them equally as suspects. Yet the police ignored the handyman's possible involvement. And they rely on the testimony of prison snitches? I bet I can get a prison snitch to swear on 400 Bibles that George Bush helped him rob a bank. Will you believe him?
And great prosecutors? All prosecutors are fantastic liars. Nothing new here.
Teamwork? Typical complicity between the police and the prosecutor. "You don't make us look bad, we won't make you look bad."
Sorry, but there is too much doubt. I agree that the jury was tainted by the knowledge of "why" DeRosario was in prison. Shouldn't have mattered why he was in there and the jury shouldn't have been told. The complete lack of any DNA evidence looks more like somebody hid it because it proves somebody else did it. And the length of time it took to decide to proceed pretty much says it took them that long to get the snitches to get their stories in line.

I know I am repeating myself but here goes:
A sex offender did not murder this boy. A murderer strangled him. Murderers that have sex with children are sex offenders but sex offenders are not murderers unless they kill someone. Being an SO is technically insignificant but sells papers.

DeRosario, already serving a 10-year prison sentence from 2000 for sexually abusing a dozen teenage boys, now faces an additional 25 years to life in prison when Westchester County Judge Barbara Zambelli sentences him Nov. 15.
I can't decide which is the worse miscarriage of justice either the first lame sentence or the second coviction based on no evidence. As long as he never gets out I could care less. Too bad NY doesn't have civil committment yet. This guy's a poster boy. If he wins his appeal they'll need it. We don't need scumbags like this walking around the same planet as our kids.
