Point is that you cant go on feeling and acting whipped.
You are correct!
Like areas where blacks will only shop at black-owned stores, which will hire only blacks, use black accountants, and only socialize with other blacks.
There are areas in our major cities where the Chinese do the same thing.
We went to an accountant, from India, who would not serve us, he only provides his services for Indian-Owned businesses.
There can be a similar network for felons. Felon-owned businesses, that hire only felons, that only associate with other felons.
By establishing a strong unified netowrk of people, who would donate "alms" to a strictly monitored trust, we can lobby Congress for what I feel is the most important need felons face, good employment.
Face it, having hope of a good future for yourself or your family is the driving force behind America's energetic workforce. Felons, especially RSOs have a seriously reduced hope to achieve the "American Dream."
We do a significant amount of whining about this. I think the whining is because we are confused about our own culture. We grew up knowing if you committed a crime, that society would place a debt upon you and require you pay that debt, but that once that debt was paid, you were to be afforded the chance to achieve success. The reality is quite the opposite and hope is lost, and the whining starts.
Well there are ways and there are people who care, like you Dad. You may not directly care one way or another if I starve to death, but you DO care because you recognize the trends. You understand that the "good people" are next.
Thi is a great read:

The link is unreliable, but if you can catch it working, it is shocking.
I think by a united felon society, not with goals of commiting crimes, but one with the goals of open-employment and hope, we can not only achieve a much lower recidivism rate for all felons, but begin to provide hope to people before they turn to crime.
We shall use the same growth strategy used by the Jehova Witness group. They have become a strong force in the US by staying tightly united and holding a strong bond with their ultimate goals in focus. I personally do not follow their message, but their growth methods cannot be ignored.
Careful reinvestment of money and people will create a felon-based society that will provide us with hope to build a future for ourselves, our children and eventually for those who might otherwise be unfortunate enough to qualify to be one of us.
We need to lobby to drasitcally expand programs like this:
http://www.edd.ca.gov/wotcgrp.htm#ExFelon
Few people would choose a life of crime over a fantastic job. Those who would, are simply beyond help, they truly prefer being criminals. Most of us prefer a nice house, kids in college, a new car and the respect of society. For felons, actions by that of True.com, companies that refuse to hire us and people who continue to judge us long after our debt has been paid show us that our former society is no longer our society. It looks as though that felon-society will need to be united and stay focused on the ultimate goals of success and community acceptance, from our own community.
Ren
We have the numbers. We just need the uniting force.
