You guys had better get your rears in gear and make your voices heard or you will only have yourselves to blame for just sitting by and letting this get through
Our democratic freedoms are doomed by the increasing complexity of life which inspires endless legislative restrictions by those who seek false sources of security or wish to throttle intelligence and progress which insult their own mediocrity.
Lobbying is a very interesting subject when it includes felons, issues of concern to felons and in particular, the rules that apply to who may directly lobby.
Most sex offenders, while on pre-supervision supervision (probation/parole) have specific limitations on who they contact and wherethey may go. Almost every official building in DC gives tours to school groups, effectively making the entire area off limits to RSOs, "children may congregate"
Of course, RSOs and felons in general are certainly permitted to have their voices heard via a hired lobbyist devoid of a criminal record!
Lets face it, the grass-roots movements to assist in felon issues is weak at best, and within that movement, there is very little support for issues of concern to RSOs. Felons in most cases do not have the money to pay lobbyists, and felons are not united effectively to accumulate the funds required to make their voices heard.
I hope to change this, or to try, by using the marketing methods of the anti-felon groups to unite felons. Truth.com's banner specifically says they screen for felons. I plan to make that heard loud and clear and use that exclusion to create unity. It will not b easy, and while failure is an unattractive probability, it is reality. I may not be the one to do it, but someone will.
