Chicago Police Department Prostitution Patrons Arrests website

The Chicago Police Department in conjunction with the Mayor's office have now made prostitution solicitors' information available online. By using this website, you will be able to view public records on individuals who have been arrested for soliciting prostitutes or other related arrests.

The page has a link to another page listing 18 statutes that qualify someone for being listed.

The following individuals were arrested and charged for either patronizing or soliciting for prostitution. It is not a comprehensive list of all individuals arrested by the Chicago Police Department for patronizing or soliciting for prostitution. The names, identities and citations appear here as they were provided to police officers in the field at the time of arrests.

It's not a comprehensive list? Who's missing? It's not clear whether there are criteria that limit who's listed or something else prevents some from being listed.

All photos and information will automatically be removed after thirty (30) days from the arrest date.
These individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Why are they removed after 30 days? I don't know that I agree with the concept of listing these people, but I'd be more comfortable with listing them after they were convicted.

Florida's list of prison inmates list prostitutes as convicted SO's. But I don't think that until someone's convicted, they should be labeled. Even now, arrests can count against you in a job search, even if charges are dropped or one's found not guilty.

Very true.

Some people will say, "If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear."

Not everyone who is arrested is convicted, but an arrest, regardless of the conviction status can stay with you for life. It is harder and harder, impossible in some states to get an arrest expunged, even if charges are not filed.

NY forbids expungments for ANY crime of death, sex arrest or Family Court investigation. In NY if your neighbor gets mad because you didnt rake your leaves good enough and he calls CPS(anon, btw) and they start a file on you..... that sticks with you for life. Technically you have 90 days to appeal to have it removed, but you do not get the letter informing you of that until about 180 days after the file is started. You might not think it is a big deal... until one night on a lonely road someplace you get pulled over for a burned out taillight. You would be surprised at the difference in your treatment. "If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear."

I think these sex perverts should be online for life. I wonder if some enterprising trouble maker (like Orolan or myself) would be able to visit this site weekly and "transfer" the data over to a private website where it would be enshrined FOREVER for posterity.

Don't forget, the House passed the Patriot Act last Thursday. The phrase "If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear," does not apply as much as it used to . as Victorialondon pointed out, n Britain, there are plans for a national identity database, where everyone over 16 has to register for life (and get mandatory ID cards.) SO databases can theoretically be used for any crime with a sexual component, and I think if there's another terror attack, we'll have a public non-SO database of some type.

Huh? Prostitutes do not register in the state of Florida. Is prostitution a sex crime? Of course, but don't confuse that with convicted SOs. Prostitutes are not considered convicted SOs. Prostitution is considered a misdemeaner unless there's multiple convictions THEN only would it be considered a felony. Even as a felony prostitutes do not register like convicted SOs.

This goes to show how branding and pillorying will move from one situation to another.
It will be easy for neighbourhood vigilantes to confuse these men with posted sexual offenders,so their lives, and those of their families and Children are being endangered.
But amazingly this is happenning without conviction, when they are entitled to a presumption of innocence.
Let's hope on of them has it to challenge the constitutionality of it.
