This is one candidate for the label "cannot rehabilitate". This man should be locked up for good. Three kids in a matter of 24 hours! So it's Playgrounds are safe, but Parks are not?

An off-duty officer saved a 13-year old-girl in Queens from the clutches of a man police call a sexual predator

Interesting choice of words. Felton is not a registered sexual predator and has been to prison once. For robbery.
The suspect, Timothy Felton, 31, who police said has a history of pedophilia

Typically the only way the police would 'know' a person has a history of pedophilia is if the person has a criminal record involving crimes against children. Felton seems to be lacking that minor detail.
In the wake of the incident, during a canvass of the park, police encountered two boys, age 11 and 13, who told police that Felton had sodomized them the day before in a park bathroom, a law enforcement source said.

Really? Why didn't they tell somebody? Or maybe, like Kentucky and Texas 6 year-olds are prone to do, they sodomized each other? I know everybody will slam me for saying that. But I'm not one of those sheep who automatically believes every claim of sexual abuse that comes along.
"He saved that girl's life,"

Did he now? How do you figure? If the allegations of the two boys are true, why are they still alive? What, pedophiles don't kill boys? Only girls get killed?

A great story of an attentive LEO who definitely prevented a victimization, and my hat is off to him. Officer DeVicarro is a 'good cop'.
The rest of the story is people talking to hear themselves, and a media trying to sell papers.

After a chase and a search, Felton was arrested. It turns out he is on parole for sodomizing another child.

If this guy was a predator on parole for sodomizing a child I'm wondering if he had GPS or a condition of parole prohibiting him from going to parks. With GPS the 'hot spots' can be programed in with alerts to the parole officer when he went near them. In his case I suppose if he molested the other kids previously they would have known about his crimes earlier and maybe the last one would not have happened. Just a thought.

Interesting that a person on parole for sodomizing a child would not be on the Net, and New York DOC wouldn't have that fact listed on his rap sheet. Looks like there are as many problems in New York as there are in Florida and California, all coming back to government record-keeping and disclosures.

There could be a number of reasons. I'm not familiar with the system in New York, but it's possible he was paroled from another state; therefore, it wasn't entered into the database. Also, if he was really a predator and currently incarcerated they may have taken him off the registry once he was booked. In Florida under unusal circumstances we have to click on the advanced search. I don't think other states have that capability.

As I've read from others and written as well about personally knowing an individual who have a history of pedophilia gone untreated and not registered or for that matter or even recognized by the police except for "watching them" whatever that means. I would imagine there's plenty of predators out there who have a "history" then "lose it "completely for whatever reason and do what this guy did or something similar. As long as the victims don't speak up, as in the case with my ex who were mostly family members, at least 7 of them, the potential for this kind of thing could be pretty much rampant with no real prior arrests that amounted to anything - although he was arrested 3x and they know it and other related quirks since. Yet even though a prior "family member" myself I am not considered justified in trying to keep him away from children. Obviously I think there's too much protection for guys with "just historys".
My hat's off to this cop too.
Maybe it didn't have to come to that.

Give the cop a medal. Give the scumbag a life sentence.

One thing Im wondering why the two earlier victims didn't notify police? As well why would they go back to the same location they had been raped at the day before (the park)?

Something there doesnt sound quite right.
