This is ridiculous. They're going to 'check on' RSO's SIX times a MONTH? That isn't 'checking'. That's harrassing. I'd sue the crap out of somebody if I lived in Ocala.
Not to mention the fact that the Ocala PD has no legal authority to do such harrassing. Address verification is the sole responsibility of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. And even the new JLA with it's language requiring the offender to comply with verification specifically states only that the offender return the verification letter TO FDLE. The offender doesn't have to talk to anybody, answer the door for Ocala PD, etc. as long as their information is true and correct and they have done their verification duty per state law.
