RUSKIN, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities said Saturday they were "almost positive" they have found the body of a missing 13-year-old girl after recovering a corpse from a pond that appeared to match her description down to her green arm cast.
Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee said the body was found in an abandoned fish camp about a half mile from Sarah Michelle Lunde's home. Gee said the cast was apparent when the body was found; Sarah had a bright green half cast from a left wrist injury.
[snip]
Authorities said they hoped to determine a positive identification and cause of death during an autopsy.
It's too early to jump to conclusions on the cause of death until after the autopsy results are released. Certainly sounds like it might be her from the article. May turn out that her death was accidental, but we won't know until after the autopsy.

Sure. That's obvious. Anyone can accidentally end up at a remote abandoned fish farm a half mile from their home burried naked submerged in water.
Think David is sleeping tight tonight in the County Jail? I bet he regrets that slick move of his by going back to her house early in the morning to grab that beer he left earlier thinking his DNA would not be left at the scene. I would not be surprised if he confesses soon if he hasn't already.

What credible witness informed the police of this event immediately upon discovering that Sarah was indeed missing?
Not surprising that you would hang your hat on this fiction.

More then likely david had done this. Its just to coincidental. I am just dismayed at the fact the parents allow their child to be gone for so long before calling authorities. As a parent if my kids where gone for anytime longer then the normid be all over it. Having said that i believe the parents should be criminally charged with child endangerment but I doubt thats going to happen. if this guy did commit this crime he needs a life sentence and nothing less.

Based on some of the info Orolan shared in the other post, sounds like these parents should have been charged with neglect/endangerment years ago!

What fiction? Can you think of a better motive to walk into the house early in the morning and grab an open beer from the table and leave? Oh, he was an alcoholic and no liquor stores were open that early, is that it?

doesnt suprise me at all, like i said it was to coincedental to start with. Im wondering had the laws been different if she would still be alive. Why do you think offenders are killing their victims at a pace unheard of before?

"Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee announced Sunday that registered sex offender David Lee Onstott has been charged with premeditated first-degree murder in the slaying of Sarah Michelle Lunde, 13.
Onstott, 36, arrived at Sarah's Ruskin home on April 10 between midnight and 5 a.m. looking for Sarah's mother, who was not there. Sarah invited him into the house where a confrontation ensued. Onstott placed a choke hold on the girl, rendering her unconscious and causing her death, according to the charging document. Onstott dumped the body in a fish farm pond about a half-mile mile south of the girl's home and he made efforts to conceal his crime.
Results of an autopsy are pending.
Onstott, who is being held without bond, gave detectives a statement late Saturday night.
There will be no other information released at this time."
Hmmm...no confession mentioned, yet.

That's what I was getting at. You blindly believed the brother's story, not stopping to wonder why it took him two days to rememebr the visit.
As it happens it appears the story MAY be true. We still don't know for sure. But if the latest reports are true, this crime is NO DIFFERENT than any other homiced in the country, and it has NOTHING TO DO WITH SEX.
But no doubt we'll see a call for new laws prohibiting RSO's from coming into contact with people at all, since they have an extremely high propensity to murder. Right?
How about a law requiring older brothers who tell their little sisters they'll go get them something to eat to actaully DO SO, instead of promptly forgetting about it and going off to get high with their friends?

Just heard on the news that he confessed last night after the body was found. He's admitting to killing her, but no mention of sexual abuse, yet.

Pretty determined, aren't you? Can't seem to fathom a sex offender committing a crime that has nothing to do with sex?

Nopes. Just don't believe his story about getting into a verbal argument then choking her to death. It's no wonder the Sheriff is holding back on filing more charges until the autopsy is completed.
Now please don't tell me you believe every word he said. Oops, you only doubt people who are law enforcement or others with no criminal history like the 17 year old brother and all those lying POs. RSOs, even ones that murder, NEVER lie, right. Puleeze Orolan.

I think that too much focus is being placed on his being a RSO. He is more than a sex offender. He is a person with a history of violence. Assault, attempted robbery and then the rape of an adult victim. He is NOT a child molester or a pedophile. He is simply a violent creep who needed to not be on the street in the first place. who does only 5 years for rape? Thats the problem right there. Im mean C'mon, why does rape only get you 5 years in Florida? It would get you 20+ here in the heartland

Just curious. If he had an argument with Sarah and choked her to death before taking her 170+lbs body to the fish farm, why is it then that they are still searching for her clothes? Can you think of one case where the perp undressed a corpse without a sexual assault?

I don't know anyone who gets 5 years for rape either. This guy got 9. That's about right for sex batts with no injuries. Sex batts with injury are in upwards of 15 -25.

"partially clothed". Not "nude".
Think you can carry a 170+ lbs body how far, 3/4 of a mile? Through woods and fields? And not so much as rip a thread?
For all we know she wasn't fully clothed to start with. Have they found the rest of her clothes on the banks of the pond? On the way to the pond?
He also struggled with her at the house. He said so.
We'll see what the autopsy report says.

He did do the 9 with 2 years supervision afterwards. 9 is not 9 in the real sense because inmates receive gain time and credit for time served. They don't get credit or gain time while on street level supervision. He was violated twice while on probation once because of a DUI and the second time because of an aggravated battery. The Judge kept him on probation and allowed him to terminate successfully. I suspect any day now the fingers will be pointing back and forth as to whose fault it is he wasn't in prison.

Only one place to point that finger. All the documents, records, evaluations, testimony and motions by attorneys come down to one thing. The stroke of a pen by a judge. There's your responsible party.

DNA samples don't match with man charged in Lunde killing
http://www.gainesville.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060204/APN/602040691
The Associated Press
February 04. 2006 3:49PM
DNA samples found in 13-year-old Sarah Lunde's mobile home don't match the sex offender who reportedly confessed to killing her last spring, but semen from her brother's 16-year-old friend was found on her comforter, newly released documents show.
Investigators couldn't find anyone else's DNA after taking swabs from Sarah's partly clad body, according to an analysis by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that was among court documents released Friday. But her body had started to decompose when found in a fish pond near her home April 16, which could have made it difficult to find DNA evidence.
The friend, whose name was being withheld because of his age and he wasn't charged, was with Sarah's brother Andrew the morning of April 10 when the girl vanished. Andrew, 18, told investigators the two had gone to Taco Bell about midnight and were gone for about three hours. When they returned to the mobile home, Sarah wasn't there, Andrew said.
This is an interesting development. As I said, we need to keep an open mind.

I think I saw something about them having a piece of metal believed to be the murder weapon but it apparently has no blood or tissue traces.
This whole thing is going to be one big fabrication. A massive cover-up of incompetence and the ultimate dysfunctional family. The fact that the brother's friend was never charged with a crime in spite of the full knowledge by police that he was having regular sex with a 13 year-old tells you right away that this is all about frying Onstott and not about justice.
