A plug for Steve. Good going:-))

Thanks. I wasn't even aware of the article until Friday. It was interesting that it suggests that some counties in Oregon are cooperating with my site, while others are not. In reality, there's no issue of cooperation - if a locality has an online sex offender registry, SexCriminals.com lists it, if it doesn't, there's nothing to list.

"[Linn County, Oregon Sheriff Dave] Burright also noted that some of the information posted on the sex criminals site appears to be out of date. He said that was a big factor in his decision."

I'm not sure what out of date information he's talking about (though I'd love to know so it can be corrected), but just after the article was published, I was contacted by a cadet in the Oregon State Police office that manages the Sex Offender Registry and asked to update a phone number of theirs listed on SexCriminals.com's Oregon Sex Offender Registry page (see # under "Telephone Access"). After I called both numbers (the old # did work, just got an operator instead of automated), I updated our page. Ironically, the number we had listed came directly from their own FAQ's About Sex Offenders page and even though I told the cadet it would be a good idea for them to update their own website, they haven't yet. Go figure!

See an abbreviation or acronym, but don't know what it stands for? Consult the Glossary.
