Oops, sorry, forgot this thread. All of you make very valid points. I have a hard fence to walk since 3 of my 5 kids are now 14 through 17 ( boy14 girl 16 boy 17). I know I have a hard time not having a double standard for my boys and girls. They are different. I don’t worry about my boys the same way as the girls because I am a male too and know the boys don’t have near as much to fear as do the girls. It helps that the 2 oldest boys play football and are hitting 6 feet tall already and could avoid a bad situation better simply because of speed and strength. All my kids communicate freely with my wife and I as well as my oldest girls mom. I know what they do online, and when they are out. I know that many of the girls and boys their age group are having sex. I also have no rosy painted idea of how some of these kids behave. Some of you would simply be blown away at what some teens are capable of doing WITHOUT an adult needing to influence them. This is why the Law is 16 in many states because many of these kids commit adult/capital crimes already. We got a few 16 y/o already in state prisons. I certainly don’t want my daughter with a guy like that, but its legal and if she wasn’t raised with proper boundaries and open communication, she would do these things regardless of my wishes. The best way to prevent these things like this video’s even being made, is to make sure we have explicit boundaries established and have full knowledge of our children’s activities. And discipline. Now that this situation has happened and the relationship is there, the consenting relationship, however short-lived, should prevail as it (the video) was probably not made with ill intentions. It may be immoral and disgusting, but it’s a prime example of why our kids need to have firm moral values established so they don’t willingly make bad choices. This is an area of sexual misconduct that parents can do so much more to prevent but wont or don’t know how to do it. To make a difference, one child at a time. When this is achieved, these situations will decline substantially.
