OK this guy is a scumbag and I hope he gets life.
But I still support that injunction. People sentenced before Megans law should be subject to the laws we had back then.
California last year tried to do away with the statute of limitations on sex abuse. They then tried and convicted hundreds of people for offenses 20-30 years ago. All those people were released when a federal court said you can't do that.
Same here. I don't believe retroactive laws like this are fair. It's like going up to a guy in prison and saying "oh by the way, instead of 10 years the law is now 30 years so we're giving you that".
