A man was charged Wednesday in the shooting death of an uncle who he claims sexually abused him as a boy....Raymond DeBack was released from prison about 10 months ago and moved into the trailer next to the one where his nephew and his brother lived.

This puts to bed the speculation by some here in another thread that Raymond F. DeBack may have been killed by someone who found out about his conviction for a sex crime from information found on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

The nephew told investigators his uncle sexually abused him when he was about 6 or 7 years old, and he had been angry for years at the older man, according to the complaint.

The uncle's conviction was *not* for sexually abusing his nephew. Authorities can't refute or substantiate the nephew's claim of sexual abuse.

He told authorities he was not sorry for his act but wished he had planned it better, according to the complaint.

Probably not the right thing to say if he wants an acquittal or leniency in sentencing.

Well its first degree murder. This sentence did him in.

"He told authorities he was not sorry for his act but wished he had planned it better, according to the complaint."

What'll be interesting to see is if his "I was a victim" deal plays with the jury. They may hear stories of a man tormented with a secret.

Who knows? I think he's guilty as hell. I suspect he probably was molested and didnt tell. If he was and the guy had a conviction for another kid there were probably more victims (funny the article didnt mention if his one conviction was for a boy or girl?).

Either way the reason is irrelevant. Its a planned murder. Hes toast.

Which reminds me - did you or anyone else watch Law and Order last night? I'll start a new thread in off-topic in case anyone wants to discuss. Whether a person is responsible for a murder they commit was a theme in the episode.

See I have a problem with all this. More and more everybody is screamming abuse and in some cases it may be true but I think this is starting to be an excuse to get away with murder. It is going to get to the point if someone doesn't like someone they can claim they were sexually abusing them. If that truly happened to him why didn't he just make an accusation to the police, that alone would have ruined his life at this stage. The sex offender hype is so bad in this day and age that the mere suggestion of sexual abuse is enough to make authorities not want to take the chance that someone may be guilty and they would have taken action guilty or not. All of this killing is too convenient right now.

Right on target with that one. And the whole thing will blow up in their faces when the accusations cross over to the non-registered never-accused.
