Though this looks like a good PR piece, it doesn't sound like much is being done to me. Let's face it - 16 arrested in 15 months isn't exactly that impressive.

Clark may have molested as many as 50 boys aged 10 to 18, paying them US$2 each, according to U.S. prosecutors.
That is pitiful. I wonder how the ones deported back to the US will fair out. With all the victims and witnesses overseas that will be quite a chore to prosecute those cases.

Dont let that fool you, Cambodia depends on its sex trade for American dollars, they will throw a bone for publicity sake but overall Cambodia is still an uneducated third world country who thrives on revenue from the bottom of the barrel pedophiles.

You can say that again - that article didn't give me the feeling that a lot is really being done. Based on various sources it seems that some progress has been made over the last few years, but it's hard to tell how much progress really has been made and how much of it is just media spin and those involved taking better precautions.

"From the beginning of 2003 until March 2004, Cambodian police have arrested at least 16 suspected foreign pedophiles - up from eight in 2002."
I agree this doesnt look like a big "crackdown" does it?

Cambodia depends on its sex trade for American dollars
Not quite. Partakers of Cambodian child prostitutes are predominantly Australian, not American.
