This would make the third community in California to take things into their own hands. If California doesn't implement a statewide online registry later this year, I have no doubt that dozens of other California cities and counties will push for their own online community notification. Considering the registration is already done, putting the highest risk classification of offenders online really shouldn't be that difficult or time consuming.

I'm not classified as "high-risk" so I wouldn't be listed there anyway. You'll just have to imagine what my pony tail looks like in the mean time.

I worked down in Santa Monica with a woman from the Palmdale-Lancaster area in the late 70's and spent numerous weekends up there with her and her husband and kids. I recall the area being very sparsely populated, and the highlight of the year was the truck race at the Antelope Valley Fair. They ran the race in reverse with trailers hooked up, which was hilarious to watch. Anyway I guess the area has grown quite a bit since then, since there are 500 SO's in the Antelope Valley and back then there might have been 500 people total.

BTW, aren't these cities violating state law?
