That is an excellent question and I do have some thoughts on it. First as I said about the female FBI agent, as long as she didn't have any children she had no problem doing the job. Once she had her first child that changed.
The fellow who rotated in for me was single with no children. He worked there for 4&1/2 years. There is an individual who started there when I did & he is still there. His personality is one of self-centeredness and he doesn't care if he offends, upsets or disrespects others. Finally, there was one case of a US Customs agent that formerly worked online doing the same type of cases. Less than a year after he transfered to do different work he was busted with a large amount of child porn on his computer. SO it seems to me that there are several possible answers as to how some people are able to do that type of work for an extended lenght of time. All I know for sure is that it has had a permenant negative effect on me.
