A youth-club director and former East Providence city councilman was released on bail yesterday, after he was arrested on Friday and charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy 20 years ago.

I'm not sure what Rhode Island's statute of limitations is in cases like this, but I assume it hasn't expired, otherwise he wouldn't have been arrested and be out on bail. He's the director of the East Providence Boys & Girls Club. The director, Gerald Lynch, is 59 now, which puts him at 37-39 when the alleged sexual assault of the then 13-15 year old boy allegedly took place and boys of the same age (and younger) are likely at the youth center. Obviously the past incidents are alleged, but it makes on think.

I'm waiting for HPierce to say something about his philosophy on reporting crimes within 24 hours...

I wont say it did or didnt happen. My case of repressed memory was well documented and researched when I sued. Here he apparently didnt repress the memory he just didnt tell.

My big question is how can you defend yourself against something like this? You cant. Its "he said he said". One person word against anothers and most people WANT to believe someone accused of child molesting is guilty.

Hes been plastered all over the papers anyway. His reputation is destroyed whether it was true or not.
