When the Web site first went online two years ago, it averaged 7,500 hits per month. During the second year it averaged 10,000 per month. But in the two days after Rodriguez was arrested, the Web site had 10,000 hits. Since Rodriguez's Dec. 1 arrest, the site has had more than 30,000 hits.
Do primarily to the Dru Sjodin disappearance the North Dakota Sex Offender Registry has seen its traffic spike. As has been mentioned before such evidence of the number of citizens accessing online registries is anecdotal, flawed, skewed and difficult to extrapolate, but I thought some users here would be interested nonetheless.
