"Ryan was convicted in 1993 for breaking into a funeral home on two different occasions to sexually assault four dead women. He also stole property and has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. He spent 10 years in prison."

He assaulted dead women. He committed burglary. He abused drugs and alcohol.

"Ryan did not participate in sex offender treatment, because there's really not a program focused on Necrophilia."

He should have been required to participate in some sort of treatment, even if it wasn't a perfect match.

"Ryan will be supervised for two years."

Two years!? Then what? This guy needs treatment and since he spent 10 years in prison and didn't go through sex offender treatment he really needs it now.

Dead Issue? lol

Really there must be some kind of treatment for this guy. If not I surely think 10 years probation is alot more suitable then 20.

As for the registry I don't see a need for it.......

Unless they plan on handing out flyers at the cemetary?

Low-lying fruit. ;-)

I think you meant to say 2 instead of 20, but I do agree that something closer to 10 years would be more appropriate. Obviously if he's only likely to abuse dead people listing him on a public registry isn't going to be too effective (unless mortuaries check them!), but something tells me that anyone who has sex with dead people and has a history of substance abuse and trouble with the law may be somewhat likely to commit sex crimes against living people too.

Ah, but not after he kills them.

One would think he'd eventually get tired of dead end relationships.

"Really there must be some kind of treatment for this guy"

And what would you recommend? How about a STIFF penalty in jail.

I can just imagine this guy on the registry. If they are actually detailed in what they post it would be an amusing read.

All kidding aside he really should be on the registry so all the funeral directors can be notified. I am not kidding. These guys lurk around funeral parlors and try to cop a feel when no one's looking. They are WEIRD. He should have a condition can not live around or attend funerals unless of course it's his own. And there is no treatment for these guys...no one knows how to treat them. It's not a common problem. Prison normally works fine.

There was a necrophiliac in the treatment program I was in years ago. He was very meek and mild. According to him, his victims didn't put up any struggle at all when he assaulted them. There were no victim's statements to counter his side of the "story" either.

Last I heard, he's been cooperative and hasn't gone "underground."

Did he whine about his partners being frigid?....wonder what his grooming process was????? Did he say that his partners consented since they never said, "No."?

A serious question (if one is possible). How did he get caught?

I can imagine a mortician walking in on........

Oh well...... you get the picture.

I'd guess that he got "the cold shoulder" from most of his attempts to have sex. The treatment program did a good job of keeping him above board and above the ground when it came to his positive changes made.

It must have been a power control trip on his part, though, because in the cemeteries, he could have a lot of people underneath him.

No robbery was involved because the victims didn't have pockets in the clothes they were wearing at the time.

If one of them would have groped him back, it might have been enough of a shock to cure him from his deviancy forever--who knows?

I don't know all of the specifics about how he got caught. The treatment program I was in had as many as eleven groups of guys with 25 to 35 in each group. He wasn't in my specific group, so I didn't interact with him very much.

But, it was known what his crime was by all those in the program. He was the only one in there for that particular offense.
