I am Major Brown's brother and have been advocating Major Brown's exoneration and release for the past year. In court, there have been numberous pieces of exculpatory evidence submitted, including testimony from the alleged victim that Major Brown is innocent. We have also proven that the original criminal complaint was not written by the alleged victim but by the prosecutor and the police. The alleged victim has also testified to this.
Major Brown's dilemma is not unique. Okinawan officials have, for years, vilified U.S. servicemen in the hopes of swaying public opinion. Their goal is to get U.S. bases off of Okinawa. They have legitimate complaints, but have chosen a very destructive method of getting their message out.
