Fred Berlin is about the most recognized expert on sexual offenders in the country. If he said the program was a joke and like a prison it was.
Most of these states are using these "hospitals" as holding pens for people they dont want to let out. Like it or not its just a prison.
There was an article in the paper here last year about the Arizona hospital. "Patients" get one hour a week of individual therapy and two hours a week of group. Thats three hours a week - in a "hospital" of therapy.
I'm sure the Illiniois program is very similar.
Its sad they sealed the report. I'd really like to see what one of the true "experts" in the field has to say about it.
