I would like some advice on how to involve the media in shining a light on the case of my husband's daughter. She was molested by her step-father and he entered a plea of guilty in October 2005. His sentence? Not one day in jail....NOT ONE! The judge asked my step-daughter (a naive 14 year old) for her recommendation and she said Probation. Why? Her mother, who is still very much involved with the molester, led her to believe that "probation" meant jail time. Tricky, huh? I hear all the time about the media being outraged that judges sentence molesters to limited jail time and here is a case of NO JAIL TIME. And he entered a plea of guilty!!! I have sent emails regarding this to the local media, but nothing seems to happen. I would relaly like the media to look closely at this case. Plus, the mother of the victim allowed her to be molested by two different men (her husband and her brother in law) and simply turned the other way...even when the victim came to her for protection. Her charge? Neglect? Failure to protect? Child endangerment? NO! No charge at all!! Please help.....
